Dancers Rocked, Roared and Marched through Ryedale Hall!!!
On Monday 8 March, 200 Yr 4 pupils travelled to South Hunsley School to dazzle us with their inspiring and energetic dances. Each school represented one of the nine clusters and had already performed their routines at the cluster dance festivals. Many of the dances had been imaginatively choreographed by the pupils themselves and tied in with themes which the pupils were studying in other subject areas. From the musical stage, Newport Primary were awarded the Most Entertaining Dance with their version of the Lion King. Each pupil had designed thier own mask and clearly enjoyed performing. The Best Costume went to Warter Primary School with their "A place in time" dance. Reflections of days gone by were skillfully crafted into their performance as they dressed in clothes from a different era. Finally, the Best Technical Performance went to St Martins School with their World War II theme. The captivating and evoking music enabled the pupils to deliver a technically suberb dance which stunned the audience. All schools must be congratulated for their enthusiasm, determination and energetic vigour which together made for a fun filled and enjoyable afternoon.
